In the Kunst-Areal you can see artworks from
very early civilisations to the culture of today.
You can see the cultural history of the world over
the last 5,000 years:
from ancient Egypt and Greece to the art of today.

The Kunst-Areal Munich is in the centre of Munich:
between K\u00f6nigs-Platz and Theresien-Stra\u00dfe.
Over the last 200 years, it became bigger and bigger.
Today, the Kunst-Areal Munich consists of:
\u2022 18 museums and exhibition centres
\u2022 more than 20 galleries
\u2022 2 churches
\u2022 6 universities
\u2022 many cultural institutions

The largest museum in the Kunst-Areal is
the Pinakothek der Moderne.
A Pinakothek was originally a museum for paintings only.

But there are also other works of art in
the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
Die Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum is also here.

The Kunst-Areal is in Maxvorstadt.
This part of the city has modern caf\u00e9s,
restaurants and beautiful green spaces.
The old gardens here are listed as protected monuments.

A visit to the Kunst-Areal is an experience.
